Walls, patches, gates — the memory of matter
The Artist
Born in La Spezia and based in Turin, Ponzio IV develops his artistic path through a process of progressive approach to matter.
The turning point came around 1968, when his interest shifted towards material experimentation. His works became assemblages of real materials: oxidised metals, worn fabrics, objects from rural memory.
Walls, patches, bubbles, gates, doors — each work is a fragment of sedimented time, where matter tells stories of erosion, passage, and transformation.
